It is just one of those things you cannot control, but before my feet even hit the floor I began to pray that the Lord would intercede and help me to feel His loving and peaceful arms wrapped around me, and to please guide and direct my steps today. So, I  began my morning routine, except today the tears were flowing pretty steadily. I got dressed and left the house to run my errands. In the midst of the running around and wiping the tears I received a call from...

Eddie  (Originally posted May-2012)  This story is about someone who I have known for a while now, someone who started his own journey with cancer shortly after my husband started his. There is no doubt that the Lord crossed our paths and our lives would forever be changed because of it. His name is Eddie and he was diagnosed with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia in August 2010, just three months after my husband's cancer had returned. AML  is a fast-growing cancer   of the blood and bone marrow, and i s the most common type of acute leukemia. More than 11,900 new cases occur in the United States each year, mostly in older adults. Eddie h...

It was a little piece of old-world brought right to her backyard.   I don’t really know where to start with Mara’s story. Though quiet, and sweet, she had a stoicism about her. I imagined it came from migrating to America from Hungary at the age of 12, and having to learn a new language as she came ...

Judy and her adopted niece (Originally posted Feb-2012) One of Judy’s favorite bible verses is  Ephesians 6:11 “ Put on the whole armor of God. ” She said this was her way of thinking that God would protect her from the devil “cancer”. Nevertheless, Judy said that she always felt she would receive that diagnosis. She had been diagnosed with fiber cystic disease when she was 25 years old, a diagnosis that made breast cancer more likely and more difficult to detect.  The extent of what Judy had to go through medically is almost unbelievable. She elected to do things in steps and phases. She shared with me that she asked her doctor what her prognosis was, and that he...

In all honesty, I have been searching for a while now where I could best use my gift of expressing my heart to uplift others through writing. Everything is always in God's timing.  What better way to provide hope and inspiration to those that are experiencing first hand the wrath of Cancer than from the hearts, mouths, and faces of those that have been in or are in the middle of that battle.  So it only seemed fitting to start with th...
